Railroad Ave S Parking Code Update

Dear Resident,

The City of Kent, in coordination with Kent Police Department, has evaluated parking on Railroad Ave S (Willis St to the south end of the road) and found that parking restrictions are needed. Kent City Code 13.01 requires a fire access route with a minimum unobstructed street width of 20 feet for emergency vehicles.

Parking restrictions are being proposed on the west side of Railroad Ave S due to parking and litter concerns. Restricting parking in Kent requires a change to the City Code. We anticipate making the proposal to City Council in December.

We realize these proposed restrictions will create an additional burden on neighborhood parking, so we want to hear your feedback on this important issue.
