NOW OPEN!

After 10-years of coordination on this multi-jurisdictional project, Van Doren’s Landing Park is reopened! The new park amenities include restrooms, parking lot, two shelters, barbecue pits, Wiffle ball field, pickleball court, horseshoe pits, Green River Trail access, a bird watching tower, expansive open lawn space, an incredible Mount Rainier-themed children’s play area, and a new boat ramp for hand carried boats.

This is the largest and most comprehensive project completed by the City of Kent and the King County Flood Control District.  The project also included a significant improvement to the Green River Trail, which is now separate from Russell Rd and provides significant improvements for cyclists and pedestrians.

This 1.4-mile-long levee project now meets 500-year flood standards and has created improved fish and wildlife habitat with native plantings along the Green River.
