Notice of Public Hearing on February 9, 2026
The public is invited to attend, and all interested persons will have an opportunity to speak. Members of the public may also submit written comments at the meeting, or in person, or in advance by regular U.S. Mail to the ECD Long Range Planning Office, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032, or by electronic mail to futurekent@kentwa.gov. Any written comments sent in advance must be received no later than 4 p.m. on February 9, 2026, in order to be considered.
Land Use and Planning Board February 9, 2026 Hearing Agenda
The City is updating its Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO) – Chapter 11.06 of Kent City Code – in accordance with state law and best available science. This update ensures that our natural resource protections reflect current ecological knowledge, legal requirements, and community values.
Critical areas include: wetlands, streams and shoreline buffers, critical aquifer recharge areas, geologically hazardous areas, and fish and wildlife habitat conservation areas.
