Kent Comprehensive Plan 2044: Building Our Future Together

Residents, businesses, and community members are invited to share their priorities, ideas, and concerns to help us build our future together. Throughout the summer, fall, and winter we heard from you about what you wanted to see in the city. Now that we know the potential impacts, we need to pick the direction for how we grow over the next 20 years. After we hear from YOU, we will create the City’s preferred growth alternative. This work will include potential land use/zoning changes and updating the goals and policies in the Comprehensive Plan.

Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) has been released and the City is accepting public comment on the DEIS through July 15, at 5:00 PM. There will be a public workshop at Land Use and Planning Board on June 24, 2024. For more details about the meeting, to read the DEIS, and learn how to provide comment click here.

What will Kent look like in the next 20 years? The City needs your help to update our Comprehensive Plan (Comp Plan). A Comp Plan is a road map for the City to follow as it considers decisions related to land use, housing, economic development, services, and a variety of other topics to guide future growth.

Community input is essential to developing the Comp Plan’s vision, goals, and policy statements. We know we are better together, and your ideas are important to shape the City’s future. Join us in a community-wide discussion to help update the Comp Plan! There are several ways to be involved in the 2044 Comp Plan update.
