City Council Adopts Ordinance 4546 for Central Avenue Corridor Zoning Changes
The Kent City Council adopted Ordinance No. 4546 on August 18, 2026, approving zoning map amendments for properties along Central Avenue and East Smith Street.
The adopted ordinance implements recommendations from the ReDiscover Downtown Kent Plan and the 2044 Kent Comprehensive Plan. The zoning changes are intended to support the long-term vision for Downtown Kent by encouraging redevelopment and investment, supporting a mix of housing and employment opportunities, and strengthening the Central Avenue corridor as a gateway to downtown.
