Bridges Ave, Morton St, and Russell St Parking Code Update

Dear Resident,

The City of Kent, in coordination with Kent Police Department, has evaluated parking on Bridges Ave S, E Morton St, and Russell St and found that parking restrictions are needed. Kent City Code 13.01 requires a fire access route with a minimum unobstructed street width of 20 feet for emergency vehicles.

Due to concerns regarding litter and overnight parking, the following parking restrictions are proposed.
E Morton St - on the south side from Railroad Ave S to Bridges Ave S
Bridges Ave S - on the west side from E Morton St to 135 feet south of E Morton St
Russell St - both sides from Railroad Ave S to Central Ave S

Restricting parking in Kent requires a change to the City Code. We anticipate making the proposal to City Council in December.
